Hello My Name Is...

Diane Krempa

BS in Art Education 1996 and Masters in Arts of Teaching 2002, Wayne State University and I studied at Society of Arts and Crafts (prior to CCS rename) and OCC. I am a former Art Educator, I retired from 12 years at Romeo HS. I also was employed at WSU as a Education Coach to Student Teachers with emphasis on Art Education from 2011 to 2018. As of 2018 I have been a member of Lawrence Street Gallery in Ferndale. I have entered multiple art exhibits this year alone and am also a member of Detroit Society of Women Painters and Sculptors.

I lead a program for Special Needs Young Adults, this program began in early 2015.

I enjoy working with my Special Needs group, as I have been a parent of a Special Needs Child and I understand they need to place to come and play with art supplies. I create inventive lessons and seasonal themes as they occur.

I also lead a Watercolor Class that meets on Monday evenings. There is a range of painters in this class, and we can either work independently or together to explore a theme. I also provide materials that pertain to painting, color schemes and add other elements such as collage to their artworks. I stress the joy of taking time to create a painting and just explore and find out what happens when you try something new.
